Certified Botanical Artist and Illustrator

Born in Southern Louisiana’s rice capital of the United States, Abbeville Frank was producing his first pictures at age 4. His natural gift of understanding composition and perspectives aided in his artistic growth, and by age 10 he had grown beyond the yellow #2 pencil with attached eraser to understand the correct tools and paper are a must in producing good work.

The opportunity to travel and live in England, Germany, France, Iceland, and Finland gave him time to study many of the master painter’s techniques with the greatest privilege being his time spent in study at Cable Mill College in London improving his understanding and skills in art. Years later, having been accepted into the Denver Botanical Art and Illustration educational program, Frank completed an average three year course of required and elective blocks of instruction in one year, receiving his certification.

Today Frank’s work can be found in collections all over the United States as well as many European countries. With 27 Blue Ribbons awarded for best of show and best of category his understanding of art from the trenches supports his Knowledge of the business of art. Teaching now rather than doing one man shows throughout the United States with a base of operation near his home in Decatur Alabama.
